Jesus knew his time on earth was short, and he called the crowds to believe in him while the light was still among them. His promise was extraordinary: those who believe in the light don’t merely follow it—they become children of light themselves.
As children of light, the life and presence of Christ dwell within us, shining through us into the world. Just as thousands of candles fill a dark room on Christmas Eve, believers carry the light of Jesus wherever they go. During the Christmas season especially, hearts are often stirred to believe more deeply, and that light shines a little brighter.
