A Prayer for When You Feel Alone

This Everyday Prayers Podcast episode weaves together Scripture and everyday life to reveal God’s deep desire for communion with us. From the very beginning, when God spoke light into existence with a word, creation flowed freely from His invitation to “let.” That same God still releases life, light, and love through His words—and through relationship.

In a quiet kitchen moment, flour-dusted hands and shared conversation become a sacred space, echoing a greater truth: God longs to sit with us, to commune with us. Jesus Himself said He eagerly desired to share a meal with His disciples, reminding us that time with us is not a duty, but a delight. He wants to hear our hearts, to share words and life with us.

This longing is beautifully reflected in the story of Mary and Martha. While Martha was distracted by many things, Mary chose the one thing that mattered—sitting at Jesus’ feet, listening. Jesus called this the better choice, the “main course” that would not be taken away.

The invitation is simple and profound: to slow down, to listen, and to choose communion with Him above all else. The God of the universe wants to be with you—to share life with you now, and forever.
