Isaiah 60:1 offers a powerful invitation: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” Scripture reminds us that God’s glory is not a shallow or fleeting thing. When Moses asked to see God’s glory, it was so overwhelming that God protected him from its full brilliance. Even then, Moses came away changed—radiant with the residue of God’s presence. Glory transforms.
That same light has now come to us in Christ. Isaiah’s words are a wake-up call to rise out of discouragement and remember what is already true: God’s glory rests upon his people. Like the dawn breaking after a long night, his presence moves us from spiritual sleep into joyful awareness. We don’t manufacture this light; we reflect it.
No matter how the season unfolds, we are invited to be the first to arise, to shine, and to give God the glory—because the light has already come.
