Trusting the Lord with Your Family After the Loss of a Spouse

THIS MONTH’S PRAYER GUIDE: Praying God’s Word for Your Blended Family.

Not all blended families are a result of divorce. Sometimes, we find ourselves faced with a different future than we’d planned because of the death of a spouse. Because this kind of loss is completely different from any other topic we’ve covered so far, I thought it deserved an entire episode all to itself. And when I thought about who would be best to lead us in the conversation…someone who would bring such grace to it, being honest, while pointing the finger straight to Jesus, I couldn’t think of anyone better than my friend, Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young.

On today’s episode, Dorina shares the experience of losing her young husband to cancer, and God’s redemption and restoration plan for her and their three girls. It’s a beautiful story. I teared up several times as Dorina share about God’s faithfulness to her family during one of the most stressful times of her life. You won’t want to miss this precious episode, so tune in right now!

Dorina is also the author of our newest prayer guide, Praying God’s Word for Your Blended Family.
