In today’s devotional, we’re reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:14–16: “You are the light of the world.” Just as a lamp is meant to be placed where it can shine brightly, our lives are meant to reflect God’s love so others can see our good deeds and give glory to our Father in heaven.
This message fits beautifully with the holiday season, when homes and neighborhoods glow with strings of lights. While hanging lights takes effort, people do it because of the joy it brings. Christmas lights have a way of making the world feel more peaceful and hopeful—and that’s exactly what Jesus calls us to do in a much deeper way.
Today’s devotional invites us to look for intentional ways to share hope, peace, joy, and love. When we let the light of Jesus shine through us, others are drawn to Him—and our world becomes a little brighter.
