A Prayer to Finish

In this episode of the Everyday Prayers Podcast, we look at 1 Kings 6:14 and 1 Chronicles 28 and reflect on the faithfulness of Solomon in completing the temple that his father, David, had long desired to build. Although God did not allow David to build the temple, David humbly accepted God’s plan, prepared the materials, and encouraged Solomon to serve the Lord with wholehearted devotion and determination. Solomon followed through on that calling, finishing the temple after seven years of work. The message challenges believers to resist distraction and discouragement in a world obsessed with instant results, and instead, to faithfully complete the work God has entrusted to them—modeling perseverance for the next generation. As Philippians 1:6 reminds us, we can be confident that God, who began a good work in us, will carry it on to completion.
