A Prayer for the Weary Mama

Matthew 11:28 invites us: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Motherhood has a way of revealing just how tired we really are. In seasons of exhaustion, it’s easy for joy to slip away and frustration to take its place. Yet I’ve learned that clinging to joy—even through laughter—can bring surprising peace to a weary soul.

When we let go a little, laugh a little more, and trust that God is still good in our imperfection, we begin to live from a place of rest. Our mistakes—like our children’s—never change the love that covers us. God is not standing over us waiting for us to fail. He gently invites us to slow down, release our burdens, and rest in Him.

This is the beauty of being God’s children: we are loved not because of our performance, but because we belong to Him. And in that truth, we find rest for our souls.
