A Prayer for Being Slow to Anger

The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. It doesn’t even produce godliness in our kids. In fact, this week’s passage tells us that when we rush to anger, we are exalting foolishness. Uggg. You know what it looks like. You’ve got a busy day planned, but if everything goes right, you can get it done. Your 11-year-old picks just that time to have one of those preteen meltdowns. He or she starts throwing around accusations. “You don’t love me. You don’t care about me. You don’t understand me!” It’s hard not to lose your temper.
