A Prayer to Shed the Weight of Shame
APPLE PODCASTS † SPOTIFY I sat in the late evening sun on the front porch of our home, head in hands, tears streaming down my face, rendered speechless by the realization that I didn't have what it took to be the kind of mom I wanted to be. Before having...
A Prayer to Remember God Sees
APPLE PODCASTS † SPOTIFY We are the ones who wake early to make lunches for school. We wash dishes until well past midnight and fold laundry without seizing. We are the boo boo kissers, the shoe putter-onners, and the seatbelt checkers. We are in constant...
A Prayer to Remember God is Good
APPLE PODCASTS † SPOTIFY I walked downstairs and surveyed the mess before me. The laundry pile resembled the trash heap on Fraggle Rock, totally out of control. Stacks of trash meant for the dumpster needed to be sorted. Mounds of toys, clothing, and other...
What’s Really at Stake if We Don’t Pray for Our Kids?
Praying Mom was sparked by a simple question to thousands of moms: “If you believe you should be praying but you aren’t, why not?” Their answers revealed seven common challenges and beliefs moms have, including:
· I don’t know what or how to pray
· I don’t know if my prayers really matter
· I can’t pray until I get my life together
· I’m so busy!
The answer Brooke McGlothlin has seen in her years as a prayer mentor is to pray Scripture over your family and yourself. God’s Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) and does exactly what God purposes (Isaiah 55:11). This means nothing is more powerful and faith-building than praying God’s Word for those you love. Complete with prayers for specific everyday situations, this book will have you making prayer your first and best response to every aspect of family life.

Motherhood is a Faith Journey
I am in an interesting season of life, where I am able to reflect back on all that I did while my kids were growing up. I am also able to see the results of those attempts, both in my life and in the lives of my grown and married children. As I evaluate each season of...
Mom’s job, versus God’s job: What’s the difference?

For the Moms Who Didn’t Get it Right This Christmas
Every year I reflect on December, and every year I come up short. (To listen to Brooke speak on this subject, click here). I'm not a crafty mom, a creative mom, or even a very organized mom. My husband works shift work, and consistency with schedules has always been...

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
4:12PM is traditionally tough for moms. Juggling after school activities, cooking dinner, homework, rushing home after work, prepping for the game or ballet, cranky younger siblings who didn’t nap, chores, and on, and on…In one of the toughest parts of our day, why not stop and pray? Together. United.
Standing as one even if we stand alone.
